Pakistani officials should avoid baseless, irresponsible remarks, ministry

KABUL: Reacting to the recent remarks made by the Pakistani Chief of Army Staff General Munir Asim claiming that the safe haven of terrorist groups is inside Afghanistan, the Ministry of National De fense said in a statement the other day. “The Pakistani authorities should avoid such baseless, provocative and irresponsible remarks,” the statement said quoting Hafiz Fasihuddin Fetrat the country’s Chief of Army Staff. Hafiz Fasihuddin Fetrat the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, said that the Pakistani officials instead of blaming others, should ensure the security of their country and avoid offensive and baseless remarks, according to the statement. In his recent remarks, General Munir has said that the Safety of a citizen of Pakistan is more important than the safety and security of all Afghan people. Calling the comments as an insulting act against the values of the Muslim nation of Afghanistan, Hafiz Fetrat added that the Pakistani officials were unable to ensure the security of their own citizens and they blame others for their shortcomings. Also, Hafiz Fetrat said: “The Pakistani people should show a reaction against such malicious expressions of their government officials, which create animosity between two neighboring and Muslim countries”. The Ministry of Defense emphasizes that irresponsible statements not only do not solve the problem but also tarnish the positive relationship between the two neighboring countries. The world and the people of Afghanistan still remember the courage and heroism of the Afghan forces in their fight for the independence and freedom of Afghanistan. Javed Husain
