Oxygen producing plant set up in Kunduz

KABUL: An oxygen producing plant worth $200,000 has been set up in northern Kunduz province.
According to Kunduz provincial health department, the plant funded by the Agha Khan Foundation has been recently established in Kunduz city.
“Currently, the plant is producing 100 balloons of oxygen in 24 hours,” said Najibullah Sahil, provincial director for public health department of Kunduz. He added that the plant could maintain the need for oxygen in the province.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Naeem Mangal, director of the zonal hospital in Kunduz, said they previously bought oxygen but currently their need was met with the oxygen producing device in the province.
It is worth mentioning that in the past, there was a shortage of oxygen in the Kunduz provincial hospital and the problem has been solved with setting up the plant in the city.
