Over 85,000 tons of goods transported via railway in a week

KABUL: A rough amount of 85,669 metric tons of commodities have been traded via the country’s railways in the past week, the Afghanistan Railway Authorities said in a statement Tuesday. “Arneighboring metric tons of exports and imports have been made via Hairatan-Mazar-i-Sharif railway, 9,057 metric tons of commodities have been made via Aqina railway and 19,703 metric tons of commodities have been made via Torghundi railway,” the statement said. Also, over 95,000 metric tons of commodities had been traded via the country’s railways in the previous week. Tens of thousands of metric tons of commodities had so far been traded via the country’s railways in the past months of the current fiscal year. The Afghanistan Railway Authority is making efforts to provide traders with the necessary facilities and resolve the challenges facing them. The Kabul Times
