Over 7,000 Afghan families returned home from Pakistan in a day

KABUL: A total of 7,109 Afghan families have returned from Pakistan via Torkaham port to the country in the past one day, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation said in a statement Saturday. “The returned families include 50,872 individuals, who have forcibly returned within 24 hours to the country,” the statement said, adding they have been introduced to the provincial office of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to receive the necessary assistance. Also, more than 12,000 returnees have been registered via biometrics in Spinboldak port of the Kandahar province, the statement quoted The Kabul Times
