Over 7 bln Afghani collected in revenue, MoTCA

KABUL: The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation of the Islamic Emirate has collected over 7 billion Afghani (some 80.99 million U.S. dollars) in revenue in the last solar year, a statement from the ministry said the other day. “Over 7 billion Afghani from international flights as overflight fees and ground transportation have been collected in the last one year which shows considerable increase comparing to the 1400 solar year,” the statement quoted the ministry spokesperson Emamuddin Ahmadi as saying. About 100 airplanes crossed within 40 hours over the country’s airspace and based on the international over-flight fees, every flight pays 700 U.S. dollars to Afghanistan, said the statement. The over-flight fees are collected by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and then paid to Afghanistan, the statement said. The Kabul Times
