KABUL: The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriates said in a statement Monday that 547 Afghan families returned home from Pakistan in the past one day. “The returned families which include 3,149 individuals have returned via Torkham ground port to the country in the past one day,” the statement said, adding after registration they have also been introduced to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Nangarhar province for receiving necessary assistance. A few days ago, more than 3,000 Afghan families had returned home from Pakistan. This comes after the Pakistani government has set a month’s time for deporting illegal immigrants from that country, which is now a few days remained from the determined time. The Kabul Times
