Over $54 million worth pine nuts exported last year

KABUL: Afghanistan Ministry of Commerce and Industries has said that more than $54 million worth pine nuts has been exported to foreign countries last year.
According to the ministry, Afghanistan has exported $54,38,988 worth nearly 4,953 tons pine nuts to foreign countries during the past one year. Previously, the ministry of commerce and industries had said that 26 tons pine nuts had been sold in a one-day exhibition in China’s Shanghai city.
China is considered as a big and good market for Afghanistan pine nuts which is one of the top dry fruits of Afghanistan. The antioxidant power of vitamin E contained in pine nuts may help keep one’s skin healthy and young in appearance. Additionally, regularly eating pine nuts or other seeds and nuts may help reduce the risk of diabetes and heart disease. Afghanistan’s pine nuts are popular in the world and currently 1kg of pine nuts is sold 2,000 AFG in Afghanistan markets.
