KABUL: More than 5 million Afghans have been facilitated to return to their country over the last 20 years, the United Nations High Commissionaire for Refugees (UNHCR) reported.
“Since refugee returns to Afghanistan begun 20 years ago, we’ve facilitated more than 5.3 million people to go home,” said the organization on its twitter.
According to the organization, refugees continue to repatriate and upon their return, they receive Unexploded Ordinance (OXO)/mine awareness, necessary advices and integration support from the organization in the capital Kabul.
Hundreds of undocumented Afghans have recently been deported from Iran and Turkey while in other countries, thousands of others suffering challenges as their documents are yet to be approved for legal migration.
