Over 257,600 tons of commodities transported via railway in a week

KABUL: A rough amount of 257,635 metric tons of goods have been traded via the country’s railways in the past one week, the Afghanistan Railway Authorities said in a statement Saturday. “Around 185,322 metric tons of exports and imports have been made via Hairatan-Mazar-i-Sharif railway, 38,543 metric tons of commodities have been made via Aqina railway and the rest has been made via Torghundi railway,” the statement said. In order to increase the country’s exports and imports the authority is making efforts to bring necessary transparency and provide traders with further trade facilities in the country’s ports, according to the statement. Also, more than 427,595 metric tons of commodities have been traded via the country’s railways in the past one month, of these over 3,000 metric tons were exported goods. The Kabul Times
