Over $2.5b collected in revenue in ten months

KABUL: Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Emirate has said in a statement that 2.7 billion U.S. dollars have been collected in the last ten months.
“Due to firm management and transparent process of revenue collection, 2 billion and 700 million U.S. dollars have been collected in the last ten months,” the statement said.
Although, Afghanistan’s assets are frozen by the U.S., lots of efforts have been made to prevent the country’s banking systems from bankruptcy and to keep the value of Afghani stable against foreign currencies, according to the statement.
The salaries of more than 800,000 government employees are paid from domestic revenues without foreign financial aids, the statement added.
Meanwhile, the World Bank (WB) recently released a report on the economic situation of Afghanistan saying that the prices of food and fuel have recently dropped, and the value of Afghani against other currencies remained stable.
According to the report, the volume of exports has increased significantly, the salaries of government employees have been paid on time and there has been a significant increase in revenue.
