KABUL: The counter-drugs personnel of the Ministry of Interior have destroyed over 15 acres of poppy lands in four provinces of the country, the ministry said in a statement the other day. The counter-drugs personnel of the ministry eradicated over 15 acres of lands in Laghman, Farah, Nuristan and Uruzgan provinces, according to the statement. Meanwhile, the counter-narcotics forces of the ministry discovered four drug factories with 50,000 kilograms of Yamaa in Ghor province, and burned 28,000kgs of Yamaa in Herat province. At least 11 people were detained on charges of production and dealing drugs in the provinces, the statement further said. The counter-drug officials of the Islamic Emirate have vowed to destroy all areas cultivated with poppy and bring the vicious phenomenon to nil all over the country. The Kabul Times
