Over 100 foreign tourists visited historical sites of Ghor in 5 months

The residents of Ghor province welcomed foreign tourists and
said the surge in the number of foreign tourists helped the revenue generation as well as the exchange of cultural contacts.

FIROZKOH: At least 100 foreign tourists have visited the historical sites of the country’s western province of Ghor in the past five months of the current solar year, the provincial Information and Culture Department said in a statement the other day. Mawlavi Abdul Hai Zayeem, head of the Director of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department Mawlavi Abdul Hai Zayeem said that the tourist who have visited the historical sites especially the Jam Minarets of Ghor province in the past five months come from Pakistan, Iran, India, U.S., France, Germany, Australia and other countries, according to the statement. He said that after the resumption of power by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) security situation has been improved nationwide, including in Ghor province. “Increase in the number of tourists helped the revenue generation as well and efforts were underway to provide more facilities to foreign tourists,” the statement quoted Zayeem as saying The residents of Ghor province welcomed foreign tourists and said the surge in the number of foreign tourists helped the revenue generation as well as the exchange of cultural contacts. Mohammad Haidar Ibrahimi, a resident of Ghor province, said that we warmly welcome foreign tourists in Ghor and there is no doubt that visits by foreign tourists could not only help revenue generation but also provide the opportunity to learn about other cultures. According to the sources over 600 historic sites existed in Ghor out of which 370 have been registered with the relevant authority. S.Raqib
