Officials committed to provide youths with education

BAMYAN: The provincial Director of Information and Culture of the country’s central province of Bamyan Mawlavi Saifurrahman Mohammadi has met with the chief of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) Sarah De Mol, a statement said Wednesday. Both sides discussed issues of mutual interest such as freedom of expression, media activities, tourism and youth education, the statement, released by the provincial Information and Culture Directorate, said. “Media plays a key role in all aspects of the community and the provincial officials were always committed to providing the youths with education, freedom of expression, media activities and human rights in accordance with the Islamic sharia,” the statement quoted the provincial Director of Information and Culture Mawlavi Saifurrahman Mohammadi as saying. Pointing out to the historical sites and places of the province Mohammadi said that with the resumption of power by the IEA and ensuring countrywide security thousands of domestic and foreign tourists have visited the province in the last one year, according to the statement. “The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) is making efforts to provide youth with media education,” the statement quoted the Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) office Sarah De Mol as saying. She added that complete support will be made to journalists and media activists in the province. The Kabul Times
