NSA Mohib, Pakistan Ambassador discuss President Ghani’s upcoming trip, peace process

KABUL: National Security Advisor (NSA) Hamdullah Mohib met Pakistan Ambassador Zahid Nasrullah here in his office on Tuesday, and both sides discussed regional cooperation and peace process, a statement said.
According to the statement from NSA media’s office, the two sides discussed the Afghan peace parleys, regional cooperation, counter-terrorism and President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani’s upcoming visit to Pakistan on the invitation of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
NSA Mohib said: “This trip could be an opportunity where we can build a positive momentum which is good for both countries.”
The officials also exchanged views on various issues including mutual trade relations and health services.
According to another report, National Security Advisor (NSA) Hamdullah Mohib on Tuesday met with Australian delegation led by Dr. Lachlan Strahan, the Assist. Secretary S/W Asia.
A statement from the NSA media’s office said the two sides have discussed the Afghan peace process, possible ceasefire, upcoming election and regional cooperation.
It added that the delegation also reaffirmed Australia’s support from an intra-Afghan peace process, elections, possible cease fire and assisting Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF), as they called them “heroic.”
During the meeting the NSA Mohib has thanked the delegation for Australia’s assistance and praised their sacrifices in Afghanistan, the statement added.
