NPC approves 25 projects

KABUL: Presided over by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund, the National Procurement Commission (NPC) held its meeting, approving 25 new development projects worth 8 billion Afghani (some 109,131,000 million U.S. dollars), his office said in a statement the other day. The meeting discussed 31 projects of which 25 projects were approved, 5 projects were canceled and one project was referred for open bidding, the statement said. The approved projects include finalization of the remaining construction work of a 100- bed hospital in Ghazni province, completion of diversion tunnels for the Bakhshabad Dam, reconstruction of various roads in Kabul City, completion of the remaining works for the third phase of the Kamal Khan Dam, and a number of other initiatives, the statement added. With the implementation of the projects, hundreds of thousands of people will be provided with job opportunities in the country. The Kabul Times
