Norwegian Committee to reconstruct hundreds of homes in Paktika

SHARAN: Hundreds of natural disaster-affected houses will be rebuilt with full financial support of the Norwegian Committee, in the country’s southeastern province of Paktika, the provincial Disaster Management Authority said in a statement Sunday. “Hundreds of homes, affected by the recent natural disaster in different districts of the province including Urgon, Nika, Gayan, Zerok, Barmal and Sar Hawza, will be reconstructed at the cost of 12.8 million Afghani (about 147,823 U.S. dollars) by the Norwegian Committee,” the statement quoted Director of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority Mawlavi Matiullah Mansour as saying. Devastating quakes have recently destroyed thousands of residential units and affected tens of thousands of people in southeast provinces of the country, in which dozens of humanitarian aid agencies deployed their rescue teams to the affected sites to provide the people with necessary humanitarian assistance and healthcare services.
