Nomination anniversary of Ghazni as Capital of Islamic Culture marked

GHAZNI: Nomination anniversary of Ghazni as Asian Capital of Islamic Culture was celebrated the other day in Ghazni, provincial capital.
In 2013, the Islamic educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) named Ghazni as Asian Capital of Islamic Culture.
In a ceremony held on this occasion the other day in Ghazni with participation of local officials, provincial directors, a number of members of provincial council, poets, cultural figures and a large number of residents of the province, governor of Ghazni Waheedullah Kaleemzai said cooperation of the people results in celebration of this great honor of Afghanistan in current year.
He praised provincial directorate of information and culture for its effort towards cultural development and preparation of the province for celebration of the festival.
Acting director of information and culture for Ghanzi Bashir Mohammadi read out message of acting minister of information and culture Hasina Safi, who has called Ghazni city as the 2nd capital of Islamic world and promised that she will make effort to renovate historic monuments of the province that have not been renovated so far and expand the culture of tourism in the province.
Meanwhile, in the ceremony, poets and culture figures read their poems in connection with spring and peace.
