The country’s enemies fear from unity more than anything else and their number one tactic is to keep the fire of discord aflame in Afghanistan. They know the power of a nation is in their unity.
Therefore, the religion, race, location, language and mass-ignorance have been frequently used by them as basic tools. Many times, they applied their wicked strategies through a series of deadly attacks on Shia and Sunni peaceful mosques but luckily failed to reach their sinister goals. With attacking on the mosques and killing dozens of innocents, they also proved that neither they are committed to Islamic teaching and nor to national or international values.
Now that foreign troops are leaving the country, it is of immense important that Afghans are united against any outsiders’ vicious plans. The country’s residents are needed to put aside their differences and overcome the ongoing challenges and pave the way for successful withdrawal of the foreign troops and development of the war-torn country.
Addressing Kandahar residents during a provincial visit on Thursday, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani said it’s important to maintain a strong republic system and that Afghanistan must allow the foreign troops to withdraw with honor “because they have helped us. “I came to Kandahar to be reassured that nothing will happen once the foreigners leave. We have always held on to our soil and will continue to do so,” he added.
The country’s leaders and politicians should realize that unity is beyond slogans or paternal advice!  It is not achieved unless we truly believe in it and know that there is a common Law that one should love his neighbor as himself.
People residing in Afghanistan, somewhat, belong to different castes, religions and ethnic origins. This diversity of caste, colors, religions, languages and cultures is our own identity. They are like different flowers in a garden. The beauty of the garden lies in the varieties of its flowers and fragrance. This is the unique feature of Afghanistan. Whatever caste, creed, culture and customs we follow, we are all Afghans and the beautiful flowers of the same garden.
Unity and national integration must be the main agenda of the country’s political figures and government. Various genuine mottos and programs need to be organized for the purpose of fostering unity and relationship among races by means of various policies.
In addition, it is the responsibility of religious scholars, media and education to aware new generation differentiates between general peaceful spirit of holy Quran and hatred interpretations imposed by extremists. We must accept unity in diversity as one of unbreakable principle in our social and political platforms.
Afghans must be cautious that religious fatwa (degree) is only issued by credible addresses under certain terms and conditions, and we should understand that we are as powerful as we are united, as powerless as we are divided!
To support both peace process and national interests, Taliban, political parties and heavyweights have to back the government and try to reach extensive political consensus to break the stalemate of peace talks. Taliban should give up fighting for outsiders interests, which is devastation of the country’s infrastructures, backwardness and undermining of the achievements made in different areas, including education, technology and women’s rights.
