Muttaqi in Iran to discuss political, economic issues

KABUL: Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Foreign Minister of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan leading a ranking delegation left for Tehran, the capital of Islamic Republic of Iran on Saturday, Bakhtar News Agency reported.
As the first official visit of a high-ranking delegation of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the delegation held talks with the Iranian officials on different political and economic issues, IEAowned agency said.
Din Mohammad Hanif, Acting Minister of Economy who was also a member of the delegation hoped to achieve good results from the bilateral meeting.
Meanwhile, Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce Nooruddin Azizi said that in addition to signing significant contracts, importing gas and fuel from Iran was discussed, the agency added.
The delegation also had discussions where the Islamic Republic plans to invest in energy and mining sectors, said Sakhi Ahmad Paiman, Deputy Head of the Chamber of Industry and Mines as quoted by the agency.
