KABUL: A total of 524 Afghan refugees earlier prisoned by the Pakistani officials, have recently been released in Karachi, one of the major state of the neighboring country, Kabul-based Pakistani embassy wrote on its Twitter handle.
“As a result of the efforts of the Embassy of Afghanistan in Islamabad and the Consulate General of the country in Karachi, 524 Afghans, including 54 women and 97 children, were released from the prisons of Karachi,” the embassy twitted.
The released refugees are sent to their homeland, according to the embassy’s tweet adding all costs of the prisoners including transportation, food, water and clothing are provided by the embassy and consulate in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan.
