More than 200 Afghans released from Karachi jails return home

KABUL: The country’s Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation said Sunday that 215 Afghan refugees who have been recently released from Pakistan’s largest city of Karachi’s prisons, have returned home. In its Twitter handle, said that the released Afghan nationals returned to the country through the ground port of Spin Buldak of the country’s southern Kandahar province, according to the statement. On Saturday, 208 Afghan citizens have also been released from the Pakistan’s Sindh province and returned to the country. Pakistan security officials have earlier arrested a wide number of Afghan refugees for having no legal travel documents, and many of them are still kept in jails. In an agreement signed between the representatives of the two sides, hundreds of Afghan refugees have been released recently and sent to Afghanistan. The Kabul Times
