More employment more opportunity for poverty reduction

As poverty continues to increase every day not only in Afghanistan but also in developing countries, their strategies on how it can be prevented to ensure everyone has access to social amenities. It is time that necessary strategies or plans are made to reduce poverty or find a way of solution to poverty in the country. Eating three meals a day is one of the important steps in poverty reduction. Studies have proven that nearly half of the world’s population or about 3 billion people lives on $1.50 a day and about 85 percent of the world’s population lives on less than $10 a day. In Afghanistan, approximately 85 percent of Afghans live on less than one dollar a day. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in a recent report has said that Afghans are dealing with extreme hardship, and approximately 85 percent of them live on less than one dollar a day. It’s stated in the report that the latest UNDP research indicates that the real GDP of Afghanistan has declined by 29 percent since 2020 and continues to spiral downward. The restrictions on women’s rights alone are estimated to have caused an economic loss between U.S. $600 million and $1 billion. Meanwhile, the World Food Programme (WFP) has recently said that one in three Afghans do not know where their next meal will come from. The World Food Programme (WFP) in a report said that it urgently needs $670 million to reach 15.2 million men, women and children with lifesaving food, nutrition, and livelihood support. On the other hand, the country’s Ministry of Economy has said that it is trying to solve the economic challenges by attracting investment and supporting domestic production and small businesses in the country. The ministry has stressed that the Islamic Emirate tries to bring about employment and work opportunities and the gradual reduction of poverty through the coherence of national policies and programs. Focusing on how to curb poverty is very important. Both in the ways that an individual can have an impact and on the wider changes that need to be made to bring an end to poverty. Supporting development projects and the creation of employment opportunities are two of the best approaches to poverty reduction in Afghanistan. Unemployment and underemployment lie at the core of poverty, the poor often use labor as the only asset they can use to improve their well-being. Hence, the creation of productive employment opportunities is essential for achieving poverty reduction and sustainable economic and social economic development. Employment can help to alleviate poverty through the provision of income for the family, which even helps others to benefit. For example, when the breadwinner of the family is gainfully employed, he will be able to meet the basic and future needs of the family. The Islamic Emirate has already started to create more work opportunities in the country by implementation of small and major development projects in various parts of the country. The Islamic Emirate should further focus on the creation of employment opportunities and implement more development projects in the country so that more people get employed, which can help reduce poverty in the country.
