KABUL: The country’s Ministry of Information and Culture and the Kabul Municipality plan to reconstruct a number of historical sites in Kabul, a statement from both sides said the other day.
The historical sites included Bagh-e-Babur, Bagh-e-Chehel Sotun and Timur Shah Durrani Shrine in the capital Kabul, the statement said.
Deputy Minister of Information and Culture for Art and Cultural Affairs, Mawlavi Atiqullah Azizi said that in order to maintain the country’s cultural heritages and historic relics reconstruction works on a number of historical places were underway.
Also he thanked the Kabul Municipality’s cooperation in the restoration of historic monuments and asked it to continue its necessary cooperation in this regard, the statement quoted.
“Protection of historical and Islamic values are at the top priority of the Kabul Municipality and we are committed to maintain the cultural heritages and Islamic civilization”, Qari Wali Jawad head of cultural affairs for the Kabul Municipality said as quoted by the statement.
