MoIC committed to promoting book-reading culture, supporting publishers, Farahi

KABUL: Participated by the Deputy Publication Affairs Minister of Information and Culture Mawlavi Hayatullah Muhajer Farahi, an exhibition of the Holy Quran and book was held in Deh Afghanan Area of the capital Kabul city, the ministry said in a statement Saturday. The exhibition which was organized by Baihaqi Book Publishing House on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, was attended by Director of Government Dailies Mawlavi Mohammad Ibrahim Nabeel and some other government officials, the statement said. Addressing the exhibition, Farahi said that the Ministry of Information and Culture was committed to promoting bookreading culture and supporting publishers in the country and will continue its efforts in this regard, according to the statement. Meanwhile, a number of Kabul citizens, who visited the exhibition, expressed their happiness and called it an important step for the development of study culture in the country. At the same time, representatives of private publishers also praised the Ministry of Information and Culture’s move and called it a good marketing opportunity for books. The Kabul Times
