KABUL: The Digital Salary Payment process was inaugurated at the presence of President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and First Lady Rula Ghani here at the presidential palace on Monday, a statement said.
First, Ajmal Ahmadi, acting governor of Da Afghanistan Bank, said that it is an important program for transferring money through ordinary telephones without internet, and according to him from now on, all civil and military employees with regular telephones can check their accounts and transfer money to whoever they want, the presidential palace statement quoted.
After practical implementation of the program, President Ghani, as quoted in the statement, thanked the officials of the mentioned bank and called the program a fundamental progress and a historic step.
The president described the system very important in preventing corruption and creating transparency, saying that members of the security and defense forces could now easily send their salaries to their families. The president also added that the system and experience have been successful in Africa, the statement further said.
