Mistreatment of Afghan refugees in Pakistan unfair, provoking

Officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan say the country’s acting minister of foreign affair Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi met with Pakistan Charge d’ Affaires to Kabul Ubaid ul Rehman Nizamani.
According to deputy spokesperson to the ministry of foreign affairs Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, acting minister of foreign affairs in his meeting with the Pakistani Charge d’ Affaires to Kabul has termed mistreatment of Afghan refugees as unfair, provoking and harmful for the friendly relations of the two countries.
Meanwhile, acting minister of foreign affairs asked for addressing existing problems in issuing Pakistan visas to Afghan nations, providing facilities and preventing from delays and obstacles.
In the meeting, Pakistani Charge d’ Affaires to Kabul Ubaid ul Rehman Nizamani pledged that he would share the messages and concerns of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to relevant authorities in Pakistan and assured of addressing issues in issuing visas for Afghan nations.
“Pakistan and Afghanistan are two Muslim countries having common religious, cultural and economic sharing,” Nizamani said, adding that the Pakistan government would not let anybody disrupt relations between the two countries.
This comes amid of increasing incidents of mistreatment of Afghan refugees in different cities of Pakistan, especially in Sindh’s Karachi city.
Previously, Afghanistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) in a statement had condemned mistreatment of Afghan refugees in neighboring Pakistan, asking the Pakistan authorities for prevention of such incidents.
Based on reports, Pakistani police has recently arrested hundreds of Afghan refugees in various cities of the country particularly in Sindh’s Karachi city. Besides, reports of mistreatment of Afghan refugees have been also published in recent days.
