KABUL: The country’s acting Minister of Higher Education Mawalavi Abdul Baqi Haqqani said Afghanistan needed cooperation from Turkey to develop religious and modern education, a statement from the ministry said Sunday.
In a meeting with Sayed Yaseen, Turkish Union of Ulama and Madrasas, the acting minister said Turkey was a developed country and its cooperation was effective in beefing up religious and modern education in Afghanistan, according to the statement.
He also spoke about the building of Afghan International University in Kabul and sought his cooperation in this respect, the statement added.
Meanwhile, head of the Turkish Union of Ulama and Madrasas congratulated Haqqani for the victory of the Islamic Emirate and assured him any type of cooperation with the Islamic system, the statement said.
