Minister Mansoor, Chinese ambassador discuss power supply project

KABUL: The Acting Minister of Water and Energy Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor, in a meeting, with Zhao Xing, the Chinese Ambassador to Afghanistan, dis cussed some issues including power supply, the ministry said in a statement the other day. The meeting discussed several important issues including joint cooperation in the implementation of water and electricity projects, the Bagh Dara dam project in Kapisa province and the Surobi 2 power dam project, the statement said. The Bagh Dara dam project in Kapisa province and the Surobi 2 power dam project will supply electricity to Mes Aynak copper mine in Logar province, the statement added. Mansoor said the implementation of the projects was important and necessary, especially the power project for the Mes Aynak mine. Stressing on speeding up the affairs to start the practical work, Mullah Mansoor reminded the Chinese companies to show the necessary seriousness and determination in the implementation of the projects, according to the statement. The Chinese ambassador assured the embassy’s cooperation in the implementation of the projects and promised that Chinese companies would take the necessary measures to invest in the mentioned projects as soon as possible.
