Minister Khairkhwa visits some historical sites in Ghazni

GHAZNI: Acting Minister of Information and Culture of the Islamic Emirate Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa has visited a number of historical places in the country’s central province of Ghazni, the provincial Information and Culture Department said in a statement Saturday. The acting minister, during his provincial trip, visited historical sites, such as Mausoleum of Hakim Sanai, Baba Hajji Mosque, Sebuktigin Tomb, the Mausoleum of Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi, Mausoleum of Sanai, the Museum of Islamic Art, Bala Hessar and historical minarets of Ghazni, said the statement. “Historical sites and relics are the spiritual asset of the nation and their maintenance, protection and reconstruction are one of the joint responsibilities of the nation and government,” the statement quoted Minister Khairkhwa as saying. Also, the minister during his trip, including the provincial Governor Hafiz Mohammad Amin Omari, met with a number of high-ranking officials in the province, the statement further said. In the meeting, Minister Khairkhwa, assured that the challenges related to historical sites will be solved and enough budget for reconstruction of the sites will be also considered by the ministry, the statement further said. “Maintenance of Jihad’s values is one of the responsibilities of the ministry and for better protection of them, the ministry is going to build museum countrywide,” the statement quoted him as saying. Furthermore, a contract will be made to provide the provincial public library with more than 10,000 textbooks. The provincial media challenges will be solved and the journalists will be provided with the necessary privileges. The Kabul Times
