Minister Delawar meets OCHA representative in Kabul

KABUL: The Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum Shaikh Shahabuddin Delawar, met with the Deputy Head of Office/Senior Humanitarian        Affairs Officer at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), Mohammad Khater Zaid and his accompanying delegation, here in Kabul, the ministry in a statement said Monday. Minister Delawar spoke about the IEA’s achievements, economic growth, development of mines and particularly countrywide sure security, according to the statement. Pointing to the ongoing positive development in Afghanistan, the (UNOCHA) representative, Mohammad Khater Zaid said that after the resumption of power by the IEA, sure security, as well as transparency, have been improved in the country, the statement added. He also expressed pleasure over the banning of under-aged workers in the mining sites by the ministry, the statement said. Commending the UNOCHA humanitarian cooperation with the country, Delawar emphasized over strengthening of reciprocal cooperation and coordination, the statement added. The Kabul times
