Media should consider national unity, Minister Khairkhwa

KABUL: The Acting Information and Culture Minister of the Islamic Emirate Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa and his accompanying delegation including Deputy Publication Minister Hayatullah Muhajer Farahi visited the country’s northern province of Takhar, the ministry said in a statement the other day. Speaking at a gathering under the theme of ‘Prosperous people, responsible system’ in Taloqan city the center of Takhar province, Mullah Khairkhwa said that the media should arrange their broadcasts in such a way as to strengthen national unity among Afghans, according to the statement. Listening and answering the questions and recommendations of journalists, Minister Khairkhwa said that his-led ministry has always been committed to addressing the challenges facing the country’s journalists, the statement added. “According to the main aspect of the news, anything that is in conflict with the Islamic values and Afghans’ traditions should be prevented,” the statement quoted Khairkhwa as saying.
