Maulana Jalaluddin Balkhi’s 813rd birth anniversary commemorated in Balkh

KABUL: A ceremony was held in the country’s northern Balkh Province provincial capital Mazar-e-Shraif marking the 813rd birth anniversary of Maulana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi, Bakhtar News Agency reported the other day.
Balkh Governor Mohammad Isaq Rahguzar read out the message of President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani saying the poet and gnostic Maulana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi was one of the country’s scientific and spiritual reserves, the agency said.
“Although he was from Afghanistan, but his meditations were humane and ultra-border,” said the agency quoting the governor how read out the president’s message.
Other participants including Deputy Minister of Information and Culture for Cultural Affairs, Mohammad Rasoul Bawari, Mohammad Afsar Rahbeen, Ustad Rafi also spoke on the scientific and spiritual personality of Maulana and asked the government and the Ministry of Information and Culture for the creation of Maulana Shunasi section in the universities of the country to help the future generations get full information about Maulana.
At the threshold of the ceremony, an exhibition was also held displaying handicrafts, paintings and books, said the agency.
