KANDAHAR: The remains of 5 unidentified bodies have been found in a grave in the country’s southern province of Kandahar, an official said the other day.
The bodies were found on Saturday evening, in Daman district of the province, Haji Zaid Kandahar governor’s spokesman told media.
According to him, the people were buried here ten to fifteen years ago, based on the bones left in the grave.
“Many such graves have been found after the takeover of Afghanistan by the Islamic Emirate,” he said quoting the area residents of confirming several crimes to have been committed in the district in the past.
However, the bodies have not been unidentified, Dr. Mohammad Naeem Wardak, the head of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s embassy in Doha, said that this is an example of the crime of the previous government.
A mass grave containing the bodies of twelve people has also been found in Spin Boldak district of the province.
