BAMYAN: At least twenty people have been badly bitten by two mad dogs in the country’s central Bamyan province, local residents said Wednesday.
“Two dogs jumped at 20 people including women and children in separate parts of Shahidan and Qarghato vicinities of the province and bit them, some critically,” Ghulam Ali Rezayee and Qurban Ali, two residents of Shahidan told media.
The wounded ones, some seriously, have been taken to the provincial hospital for treatment, according to them.
Both dogs have also been identified and eliminated by police at the spot, according to the residents. More than 5,000 rabid dog-bite cases have been reported over the past six months, with 10 people losing their lives across Afghanistan. The Kabul Times
