FAIZABAD: At least three people have died in a landslide triggered by the latest heavy rainfalls in northern Badakhshan province, Muezuddin Ahmadi, the provincial information and culture director confirmed Sunday.
“The landslide occurred in Waro suburban vicinity of Maymay district of the province, killing two people and critically wounding another,” Ahmadi told media.
One body has been recovered and another still missing, the official said.
Torrential rainfalls causing floods and hill-slides are blamed for leaving heavy live and property losses across the mountainous country.
