Landmine blast takes 3 lives, wounds 2 in Maidan Wardak

MAIDAN SHAR: At least three children have lost their lives and two others wounded, when a landmine, they were playing with, went off, in the country’s central province of Maidan Wardak, the provincial police chief said in a statement Saturday. “Three children have been killed and two others injured in a landmine blast in Sayedabad district of Wardak province,” said the statement. The wounded children had been evacuated to the provincial hospital for treatment, the statement said. This is to be noted that lots of people had been killed by landmines blast in the war-affected areas of the province. Unexploded Remnants of War (URW) still take the lives of numerous people, mostly children as decades of wars caused millions of Afghans to lose their lives and thousands of others become disabled in the country.
