KABUL: The Kabul Municipality has collected 4,306,000,000 Afghani (some 49,605,120 US dollars) in revenues over the last one year, an eye-catching increase comparing to the last three years, the officials said on Tuesday. In a media meeting held at the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC), Deputy Kabul Mayor, Mawlavi Mohammad Khalid Sajustani, spoke about the municipality achievements and revenues which has unprecedentedly been increased in 1401 comparing to the previous years. He said the municipality wanted to change Kabul city into a sustainable city as it has always tried to provide better and sustainable environment, dynamic economy, providing standard services, and great urban culture to meet the city requirements in long-term. Meanwhile, a representative of the municipality, Nimatullah Barakzai said: “4,306,000,000 Afghani (some 49,605,120 US dollars) has been collected from various sources in 1401 solar year, multiple times increase compared to 1400.” The revenues will be spent in the implementation of various construction projects in the capital, providing better urban services, the statement further said. More than 30 kilometers of roads have been constructed and over 90,000 saplings have also been planted in Kabul city, according to the source.
