Afghanistan domestic products Exports to neighboring countries have been increased in the past one year. Various products including agricultural products are exported to neighboring countries as Pakistan, Iran, China, Kazakhstan and others.
In recent days, the first batch of domestically produced biscuits has been exported to Kazakhstan through Hairatan port.
According to officials of Shakur Qenaat Bakhsh Food Manufacturing Co, for the first time, biscuits produced by an Afghan company have been exported to Kazakhstan.
“4 tons of biscuits produced by our company in Mazar-e-Sharif, the provincial capital of Balkh province, have been exported to Kazakhstan via Hairatan port,” said Shakur Qenaat Bakhsh, head of the Shakur Qenaat Bakhsh Food Manufacturing Co.
He said that nearly 600 workers have been given work opportunities within the company producing more than 70 tons of various foodstuffs and beverages in 24 hours. According to head of the respective company, the company produces mineral water, juice and various types of biscuits.
Qenaat Bakhsh further said that he has invested $5 million on the company as more than 4 tons have been now exported to the neighboring countries, assuring of increasing exports of biscuits to other neighboring countries in the future.
According to the company, the company’s biscuits have good markets inside the country as their products are delivered to 22 provinces as Balkh, Samangan, Faryab, Maimana, Baghlan, Takhar, Badakhshan, Kabul, Nimroz, Farah, Herat, Khost, Ghazni, Paktia, Paktika, Kunar, Laghman, Nangarhar, Jawzjan, Sar-e-Pul, Helmand, Parwan and Kandahar.
Qenaat Badakhsh further said that he was planning to expand the company’s activities as he was working on creating another similar company that could produce different cookies, biscuits and cartons to increase the exports level to other countries in the region.
Previously, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) officials had informed of increasing exports of the country’s domestic products to various countries in the region including China and India.
It is hoped that with increasing Afghan domestic companies, exports of the country’s domestic products will get double in near future.
