Imported medicines should be registered, Dr. Omar

KABUL: The General Director of the Afghanistan National Food and Drug Authority, Dr. Abdul Bari Omar, in a meeting with Mark Hutchinson the Deputy Representative at the United Nations Population Fund (UNF PA), said every organization should give priority to Afghanistan’s pharmaceutical products, the authority said in a statement on Saturday. Dr. Omar said that every organization importing medicine to Afghanistan should prioritize the country’s domestic products because Afghanistan’s pharmaceutical products are produced with high quality, according to the statement. “Those drugs which are not produced in Afghanistan and institutions are required to import them from foreign companies, should be registered with the Afghanistan National Food and Drug Administration of Afghanistan,” the statement quoted Dr. Omar as saying.
