KABUL: On the advent of Eid-al-Adha and following the beautification program of Kabul city, illumination process of Clock Tower has been completed and restoration of Milad-e-Kabul Minaret is due to be completed, the municipality said the other day.
Work on the historic Clock Tower located in Pul-e-Mahmoud Khan area, was completed and inaugurated recently, the municipality said in a statement.
According to the municipality the lighting has added to the beauty of the city and is supposed to expand the program in other prominent parts of the capital.
Also, restoration and beautification of Milad-e-Kabul Minaret have resumed and are expected to be completed as soon as possible.
Head of Cultural Affairs for the Kabul Municipality, Qari Wali Gul Jawad told The Kabul Times that the implementation of the program that covers all parts of the capital city, is not only a value, but also beautify the environment and provide good feeling for the citizens.
The Milad Minaret’s restoration and beautification includes coloring and lightening, according to him.
The 30-meter-long minaret with the Kabul municipality’s logo was constructed in 2012 by the Kabul Municipality.
Landscaping and decorating of the city are one of the key programs of Kabul municipality, which has been welcomed by the citizens.
Kabul municipality launched beautification program of the city for culture building and that ‘a beautiful city can give a good and hopeful feeling to the people as well as have a good effect on the psychological vision of the citizens,’ according to him.
The program will be implemented consecutively in different parts of the city.
