Following concerns over the ban on girls’ education, acting Minister of Interior says efforts are underway to address girls’ education problems in Afghanistan. Based on a statement of the country’s ministry of interior, acting minister of interior Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani in his recent meeting with UN secretary-general’s deputy special representative for Afghanistan Markus Potzel has said that efforts are underway to solve problems and find a reasonable and permanent solution to girls’ education in the country.
“The leadership of the Islamic Emirate is committed to people’s well-being,” Haqqani said in the meeting.
He added that efforts are underway to solve problems and work was ongoing on a reasonable and permanent solution to girls’ education in the line of Sharia and the culture of our people in the country.
Last month, the country’s ministry of high education asked all public and private higher education institutions to suspend women’s higher education until further notice. Besides, girls’ schools above sixth grade have been closed for the past 16 months.
The Islamic Emirate is committed to solving problems to girls’ education in the country as high-ranking officials of the IEA have repeatedly expressed their opinions about the importance of education as well as the importance of girls’ education in the country.
The leadership of the Islamic Emirate is working to provide safe environment for girls and women so that they can continue their higher education in the light of Sharia law in safety without being in a mixed male and female environment. The IEA is committed to the rights of women within the context of the Islamic mandates.
Hopes have increased in connection with reopening the doors of both universities and schools to the country’s girls after acting minister of interior has said that the IEA is working to find a permanent solution to girls’ education in the country.
Hundreds thousands of the country’s girls and women are waiting to hear the good news of the reopening of the country’s education and higher education centers in the country. They will really appreciate if they are allowed to go to schools and universities to seek knowledge for the betterment and development of their country.
In Islam, women, like men, are obliged to pursue knowledge. In the Holy Quran, the Almighty Allah order both male and female to boost their knowledge.
The Holy Quran puts significant importance on seeking knowledge. There are dozens of references to the world knowledge and its derivations. Islam urges all people to think, ponder, reflect and obtain knowledge.
Both the Islamic Emirate and the nation know the importance of knowledge; therefore, the Islamic Emirate as the lawful Islamic system of the country is working to permanently address this problem and provide a safe environment for the country’s girls to get education.
