IEA urging countries to consider progress in Afghanistan

The U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan, Thomas West, has said he met with Indian Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra during his trip to India. Posting on his account, Thomas West stated he exchanged views on the development of a unified diplomatic approach for interaction with Afghanistan. “India continues to deliver critical humanitarian aid and medicine to the Afghan people, and we discussed 2024 needs. Also, exchanged views on the development of a unified diplomatic approach in support of collective interests,” Special Representative Thomas West posted on his X account. Meanwhile, the Islamic Emirate says that the progress made by the Afghan government should be considered in discussions and meetings regarding Afghanistan. The spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, Zabihullah Mujahid, said that the United States special representative for Afghanistan should consider the current progress in Afghanistan during his trip to the regional countries and meetings with officials from various nations. Mujahid added that the Islamic Emirate has made significant achievements in the areas of security, economy, and combating corruption. “Our position is that the progress, security, and stability in Afghanistan should be taken into account and supported so that it leads to various dimensions and continues to contribute to regional security and the elimination of concerns,” Mujahid said. “Thom West’s trip to the region’s countries mostly depends on America’s ties with other countries. When Afghanistan’s issue comes to the agenda, we hope all parties will consider the development in Afghanistan and the countrywide security and stability,” said Hamdullah Fetrat, deputy spokesperson. In addition, several analysts believe that America is making an effort to share Afghanistan’s issue with other countries and decide on Afghanistan accordingly. “U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan, Thomas West, believes that all the countries in the region and world should have a unified diplomatic approach with the ruling government in Afghanistan,” said Wais Nasiri, a political analyst. “There was a series of coordination between India and America regarding Afghanistan, and they were in agreement on many issues; recently, the meetings between India and the Islamic Emirate seem to have concerned America,” said Wali Frozan, another political analyst. It is worth mentioning that Thomas West had previously announced his intention to travel to India and the United Arab Emirates to talk with America’s partners. Ahmad Tamim
