IEA supports investment in Afghanistan, Deputy PM Hanafi

KABUL: Deputy Prime Minister of the Islamic of Afghanistan (IEA) for Administrative Affairs Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi in a meeting with the MTN and M1 representatives, said that the Islamic Emirate fully supported investment in the country, his office said Tuesday. Accompanied by acting Minister of Telecommunication and Information Technology Mawlavi Najibullah Haqqani the Deputy Prime Minister exchanged views about the services of the MTN and M1 telecommunication companies, said the statement. In the meeting, General Director of M1 Group Azmi.T Mikati, and Regional Vice President of MTN Telecommunication Company in the Middle East and North of Africa Ismail Jaroudi shared the companies’ achievements and services to the Deputy PM Hanafi within 15 years in the country, said the statement. “Afghanistan is one of the countries which has provided the ground for international investments and it is appreciable,” the statement quoted them as saying. Officials of MTN asked the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to help them in transferring the investment processes of the company from Asia to the African continent, said the statement. Meanwhile, Deputy PM Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi, while, appreciating telecommunication services, welcomed the officials of the companies and assured that the ground for any international investment will be provided by the Islamic Emirate Afghanistan (IEA), the statement added.
