IEA seeking water issue resolved via political commission

KABUL: Chaired by the Acting Prime Minister and Deputy PM for Political Affairs of the Islamic Emirate Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, the Political Commission held a meeting to discuss recent tensions between Iran and Afghanistan, PM office said in a statement on Sunday. The commission was participated by Acting Minister of Water and Energy Abdul Latif Mansour and a number high-ranking government officials, the statement said. The commission discussed some important issues including the 1972 Water Treaty between Iran and Afghanistan, and emphasized that the country was always committed to the Treaty to give necessary water to the neighboring country, the statement said, adding that relations-based-mutual interests are a part of the IEA’s policy.
