KABUL: Deputy Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan for political affairs Mawlavi Abdul Kabir met with a known Russian cleric and his accompanying delegation, Mawlavi Shaikh Zalikhayov Ahmad Magmedovich and the Imam of the Moscow congregational mosque, here in Kabul, his office said in a statement on Monday. In the meeting held at the Spidar Palace, the Russian known religious scholar said: “The Islamic Emirate’s wise governance will eventually lead to the world’s official recognition of the Islamic system.” He expressed pleasure over the rule of the Islamic Emirate and assured his country’s Muslims support to the Islamic system, according to the statement. “The main aim of our visit to Afghanistan is to develop good relations between Russia and Afghanistan,” the statement quoted him as saying. Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Mawlavi Abdul Kabir welcomed the delegation and said that the Islamic Emirate hoped their arrival leads to the development of trade relations between Afghanistan and Russia and to present the real picture of Afghanistan to Russia and the world. He also asked Russia for officially recognizing of the Islamic Emirate with its partner countries in addition to the resumption of diplomatic missions and assured that the Afghanistan territory will not be used against any other countries.
