IEA ready for any cooperation with UN, Hanafi

KABUL: Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s (IEA) Deputy Prime Minister has met with Markus Potzel, the new head of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Afghanistan (UNAMA) in Kabul.
In the meeting, Hanafi wished Potzel success in his new position and said: “Since you have enough experience in Afghanistan, you can be a good partner for the Afghan nation in all fields.”
Potzel in turn said he was happy to be back in Afghanistan and asserted that the United Nations was a strong supporter of Afghanistan.
He expressed his deep sadness over human and financial losses caused by recent natural incidents in Afghanistan, saying that the UN was making effort to deduct the pain of the people of Afghanistan by providing them with humanitarian assistance and other humanitarian activities.
Deputy Prime Minister Hanafi by praising the UN for assistance and cooperation with Afghanistan in providing humanitarian aid and other fields said the IEA was ready for any cooperation with the UN and did welcome the organization’s positive effort towards lasting stability in Afghanistan, improvement of the economic situation and providing the people with humanitarian aids.
