IEA eyeing Afghan politicians return home

The cabinet of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) has formed a special commission to facilitate return of Afghan elite figures to the country.
Mulla Mohammad Hassan Akhund, the Premier of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan IEA, in a cabinet meeting attended by deputies and other members of the cabinet has approved formation of the special commission for the return of Afghan figures to the country.
The commission will be led by the acting minister of mines and petroleum Shabuddin Delawar. Other members of the commission will be acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Amir Khan Muttaqi, acting Minister of Information and Culture Khairullah Khairkhwah, army chief of staff Qari Fasihuddin Fitrat, acting Minister of Vice and Virtue Mohammad Khalid Hanafi and Anas Haqqani. The commission is aimed to negotiate with political individuals and figures, former government officials and influenced figure of Afghanistan.
Officials of the Islamic Emirate have repeatedly asked Afghan figures living abroad to return home and now efforts are underway to facilitate return of Afghan political and influenced figures to the country.
With the Islamic Emirate takeover in mid-August 2021, a large number of Afghan political and influenced figures particularly former high-ranking officials, political leaders and elite figures have left the country for various countries of the world particularly Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Iran, Turkey, EU member states and U.S. A number of these figures are closely watching the current situation of Afghanistan and want to return home. Afghan political experts believe that formation of the special commission is a positive and good step, but saying that nobody knows how the commission starts and what will be followed to provide way for the return of Afghan figures to the country. It is determined that the commission will contact the Afghan former political and elite figures to persuade them to return the country. One of the most significant conditions based on which the Afghan political and influenced figures return home is to create an understanding environment to all so that they can return home.
According to Afghan political experts, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan IEA has a historic and good opportunity to sit with Afghan political and elite figures so that they’re encouraged to return to the country.
Former President Hamid Karzai in a statement has welcomed the IEA step and considered it as an step towards lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan.
“I hope the commission take necessary steps to facilitate return of those Afghan countrymen living abroad so that the people of Afghanistan can take part in the country’s national decision-making,” Karzai said.
Recently, a number of former government officials have returned to the country. From those that have returned home is the chief of staff of Afghanistan’s former President Abdul Salam Rahimi, who returned in early February this year and warmly welcomed by officials of the Islamic Emirate.
Former mayor of Maidan Wardak Zarifa Ghafari has also returned Kabul as she’s informed of her return by posting some photos delivering aids to vulnerable and miserable families.
Formation of the special commission is considered as a good step towards lasting peace and stability and enduring development. With returning of Afghan professionals and experts, the country will be led towards economic development in Afghanistan. This comes as most of the country’s political and elite figures are living abroad. Zarabi
