IEA decisive in combating opium

Opium is a sinister phenomenon and the most harmful drug, playing a significant role in the destruction of societies and has led to the deaths of a vast number of people in Afghanistan and abroad. Unfortunately, such a wicked phenomenon was cultivated, produced and trafficked in Afghanistan as a result of conflicts and war for over forty years, particularly after the American invasion of Afghanistan by the occupying forces. The warlords and Mafias of the republic government contributed to the cultivation and promotion of such an ominous phenomenon. Collaborating with the American forces and foreigners, they endeavored to purchase and develop opium, and through an illegal approach and activity, they made substantial black money. Two years ago, the cultivation, production and trafficking of opium was prohibited entirely through a decree released by the Supreme leader of the Islamic Emirate, Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada. It was stated in the decree that legal action should be taken against lawbreakers and offenders. Such a decree suggests that the ruling government in Afghanistan is decisive in eradicating the drug and cultivation of opium. Despite serious actions taken by the Islamic Emirate, the harmful and life-threatening phenomenon is being cultivated in some remote areas of the country by a few people. Therefore, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has once again decided to destroy the poppy plant and put an end to the cultivation of opium. However, some people in the northern province of Badakhshan protested against the government’s decision to eradicate their poppy plant. Fortunately, the conflict was resolved after high-ranking officials of the Islamic Emirate visited the province. The local people pledged they would no longer cultivate the poppy since it leads to the destruction of the community and the deaths of their compatriots. Afterward, a small number of people also protested in the Argo district of Badakhshan province. The protests were soon quelled, and now the situation in the area is proceeding normally. The poisonous propaganda spread by the enemies of Afghanistan is entirely baseless. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the rest of the people have a decisive decision to eradicate the poppy plant throughout the country and not allow anyone to resort to the cultivation of such a sinister phenomenon. The people or individuals who react to the eradication of poppy cultivation should know that the Islamic Emirate will achieve its goal, which is putting an end to the cultivation, production and trafficking of opium in Afghanistan. God willing, such an effective plan will be realized in the near future, and the government’s plan will lead to an opium-free Afghanistan.
