KABUL: First Deputy Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirateof Afghanistan Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund met withthe lecturers from public universities of Afghanistan, the other day.
In the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister said that higher education was essential for the development of a country and that the IEA was committed to provide higher education for men and women in accordance with Sharia principles.
Professor Najibullah Amarkhel, chairman of the Association of Public Universities of Afghanistan, also spoke at the meeting as saying that Afghanistan has a long history of higher education in the
region, but it has not developed significantly due to the negligence of various governments.
He added that low salaries, lack of housing and neglect of the spiritual side of lectures are their main problems.
The Deputy PM assured them that all problems would be solved and that the process of higher education would start soon.
