KABUL: The Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum of the Islamic Emirate Shaikh Shahabuddin Delawar met the winner of Panjshir’s emerald bidding, Fakhruddin, and a number of national emerald businessmen the other day, the ministry said in a statement. In the meeting, Delawar said that after the resumption of power by the Islamic Emirate coun trywide security has been ensured and the ground for investment has been paved. “Fortunately, foreign and domestic investors can invest in various sectors, especially in the mining sector in the country,” he added. Praising the support and cooperation of the IEA with the investors, the emerald national traders assured that they will invest in this field and also asked other investors to come and invest in Afghanistan and contribute to the country’s development and prosperity, the statement quoted. For the first time, over 1,240 Karat of Panjsher’s emerald costing 24 million Afghani have been sold by the Islamic Emirate’s related organs through a transparent tendering to a domestic emerald trader.
